Environmental and Sustainability Policy

Last Updated: June 12th, 2026

At Shantana Landscape & Building Supplies, we are committed to operating in a responsible and sustainable way. As a family-owned business that has been supplying landscape and building materials to Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains for many years, we understand the importance of reducing our environmental impact while continuing to provide high-quality products to our customers.
We believe that small, consistent improvements across our operations and product range can make a meaningful difference over time.

Recycled Products and Lower Carbon Alternatives

We actively stock a wide range of recycled products that are suitable for most landscaping and building applications. These products help divert materials from landfill and give them a valuable second life in construction and landscaping projects.

Our goal is to offer a recycled product option for every quarried product we supply. We are continually working to expand our range so customers have more sustainable choices without compromising on quality or performance.

We are always looking for lower carbon products to add to our mix. This includes seeking out responsibly sourced and recycled materials that can reduce the overall environmental footprint of the projects our customers undertake.

All recycled products we supply are tested for quality and performance. Testing reports are available upon request, giving our customers confidence in the materials they are using.

Reducing Waste to Landfill

By offering quality recycled products, we help reduce the amount of material going to landfill. We work with suppliers who share our focus on responsible resource recovery and continue to grow the range of recycled options available to our customers.

Our Vehicle Fleet and Emissions Reduction

We are actively working to reduce emissions from our delivery operations. Currently, 30% of our vehicle fleet is zero-emission.

We have set a clear target to increase this to 60% zero-emission vehicles by 2030. As battery and alternative fuel technology continues to improve, we are also focused on transitioning our larger trucks to zero-emission options, with the long-term goal of moving toward a fully zero-emission fleet where technology allows.

Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is an ongoing process at Shantana. We regularly review our product range, sourcing practices, and operations to identify opportunities to lower our environmental impact. This includes exploring new lower-carbon and recycled materials, improving the efficiency of our deliveries, and supporting more sustainable practices across the landscaping and building industries.

We are committed to being transparent about our progress and will continue to update our customers on our sustainability initiatives.
